Our Story

BGA Retirement Advisors and BGA Employee Benefits Advisors was created through a culmination of years of financial services work by its founding partners, Mark W. Anthoine, Sr. and Stephen J. Carew.

  • BGA Retirement Advisors' primary focus is in the area of Employer Sponsored Retirement Plans services and Investment services.
  • BGA Employee Benefits Plans Advisors' primary focus is in the area of Employee Benefits and Insurance planning services.

Mark began his career in the financial services business in 1987. In 1989 he became an Owner/Partner at Healey & Associates and in 1995 took on the role as President of Healey & Associates. He then created Anthoine Financial Group in 2009. Steve began his career in the financial services business in 1994 with The Buckley Group. In 2012, Anthoine Financial Group merged with The Buckley Group to form BGA Financial. The resulting merger created an organization with more than 45 years of combined and dedicated service in the financial services arena. BGA's focus was in the areas of employee benefits, employer-sponsored retirement plans, individual insurance planning and investment strategies.

In late 2013, BGA Financial was acquired by Cross Insurance. In order to better serve our growing and diverse clientele in the financial services areas of our practice, in 2017 we acquired the financial services division of BGA Financial back from Cross Insurance, and created BGA Advisors, LLC. This allowed us to continue to build the necessary infrastructure that would enable us to focus our attention on specific financial services areas of need for our clients, namely the areas of Employer Sponsored Retirement Plans, Investment Management, and Individual & Business Insurance planning.

This also gave us the opportunity to continue an ongoing and strong relationship with Cross Benefit Solutions to enable us to further grow and support our Employee Benefits practice.
